Day 25. South Georgia/At sea. 10.2.25

"In addition to a Zodiac excursion today we may ship cruise through fjords with towering cliffs of ancient stone, or into deeply indented bays towards dramatic glacier fronts. This is a great time to find a comfy spot in the observation lounge or make your way to the bridge (open at the Captain’s discretion) to enjoy uninterrupted views of South Georgia’s majestic coast."

"Sea and weather conditions will determine our departure time from South Georgia today."

Day 12 of our Antarctic Tour.

Unfortunately there is another storm heading our way so we made a hasty exit from South Georgia after a beautiful zodiac cruise in Cooper Bay. Today we saw Macaroni Penguins for the first time and a few young elephant seals. We also saw a solo male fur seal who hadn't gone to see with all his mates.

Welcome party this morning.
View from our balcony at 5.30am. It was 6°

6.25am and we're on a zodiac ready to explore the bays.

Internet has been intermittent so publishing and will add when possible.

Leo, our zodiac driver and seal expert.
Doing a citizen science activity, measuring the amount of phytoplankton in the water.

Goodbye South Georgia.

Emergency evacuation pod. They hold 50 people plus necessary supplies.

We had a fun auction where money was raised for South Georgia Heritage. We were out bid for a penguin book that the ships photographer is about to have published.
