Day 36. Buenos Aires, Argentina. 21.2.25

"We will be free to disembark around 8.00 am. Farewell your expedition team and fellow passengers as we all continue our onward journeys, hopefully with a newfound sense of the immense power of nature."

Day 23 sadly sees the finish of our tour of Antarctica.  As we have a later flight we will have time to wander around Ushuaia.

Not a very good pano for our final morning on the balcony. It's a balmy 11° this morning.

Suitcases were taken away in the elevators.
The National Geographic ship arrived as we had breakfast.  We are about to disembark for the final time. Sadly our expedition cruise is over.
Everyone's luggage all lined up ready to be transported to the appropriate places.
We jumped on the bus and took our luggage to storage and headed out for a walk. We had 7 hours to fill in so I took some photos of some buildings.

Street sweeper in action.

Stopped for a coffee for morning tea.

Postal van.
With our limited Spanish we think this was a protest by the education department for better pay 🤷‍♀️
A little bit of rain around so we ducked in and out of souvenir stores. The temperature got up to 16°

We will be taking a local flight to Buenos Aires in the early evening.

"Buenos Aires, Argentina’s elegant, historic and cosmopolitan capital, is known as the “Paris of the South” due to its European atmosphere with glamorous avenues lined with fashionable shops and Parisian-style restaurants and cafes. Located on the western shore of the estuary of the Río de la Plata, Buenos Aires has many fascinating neighbourhoods to explore including the colourful and lively La Boca, home to art galleries and tango shows; San Telmo with its restored mansions and antique stores and Recoleta, the city’s most exclusive area."

Our flight is about 3 hrs 30 mins. Due to the lateness of arrival it will be straight to the hotel and bed for us. It was 30° on arrival at 9.30pm a huge shock to our systems.

Once again we have been lucky with the weather. The sunset was lovely. There was a spectacular electrical storm for the last 30 minutes of our flight. Luckily for us it was off to the starboard side and didn't really effect us.

Shame the window was so dirty.

We are back at Loi Suites again. This room is even bigger than the last time.
Lucky me, I have a bath tub.

First thing we did was make a cup of tea.
