Day 18. Bleaker Island. 3.2.25.

 "Between the Falklands~Malvinas and South Georgia, you will be enthralled by the ceaseless flight of the many seabirds that follow and circle the ship. Our onboard lecture program will continue with presentations from our team of experts. You can also enjoy the many facilities on the ship, borrow a book from our well-stocked library or perhaps stay active in the fitness centre."

We attended the photography session and then explored the ship.

There 15 zodiacs. 

We are tucking in behind Bleaker Island and in the afternoon we'll go ashore. Already from the ship we can see a few colonies of Gentoo Penguins.

We saw a huge colony of Rockhopper penguins, Imperial cormorants, Magellanic Penguins, Geese and numerous other birds. It was a big walk, just over 5kms, undulating terrain, in heavy gumboots.

A most spectacular afternoon on the island. 

Today we walked 7 kms.

The temperature got up to 13°

Unfortunately the boat is rocking as we move to another spot and once again I'm feeling a little queasy 🤦‍♀️. I skipped dinner and went to bed early instead.
