Day 5. Sydney. 21.1.25

Today we had nothing planned for today. We walked to Central Station and jumped on a train to Granville to have a look at the memorial we didn't make it to a few days ago due to the weather.

The trains are double decker so we sat up top first and down bottom on the return.
Not the greatest photos

The bridge in Granville has been changed since the accident in 1977, it no longer has pylons.
Flowers would have been thrown from bridge during the memorial service for each person who died in the accident.

These people were Marks work colleagues.

It felt a bit weird sitting below the platform level on the train back.

Sydney Arcade with the Tower above. We have decided to go up to the observation deck for a look.

Walking through the Arcade.
A car shop.

Anzac Memorial
St Mary's
Looking out to the Football stadium and SCG
Hyde Park
Queen Victoria Building.

Maritime Museum with the big white roof.
The Strand Arcade with the pink arrow and the Sydney Arcade with the blue arrow.

7 Navy boats in dock.
While the views were great, I personally didn't think it was any better than the Q1 on the Goldcoast or the new observation deck in Brisbane. We did enjoy it but not worth the money in my opinion.
We wandered through the Queen Victoria Building (QVB). Mark said it was occupied by pigeons and their poop last time he was here. Definitely changed a lot since then. It was lovely inside and even had a Pandora store for me to buy a charm to add to my bracelet.

Dr Seuss gallery in the QVB

4 levels of shopping

A letter from Queen Elizabeth II

A different clock at the other end of the building.

Jumped on the tram/light rail and headed back to the hotel for an afternoon of down time. We have managed to clock up 5 km on Strava but I usually pause it when we're in a building. My phone says it's just over 6kms.
Our hotel has happy hour. Cheers to Tuesdays.
