After a sleep in until almost 7am 🤯 and a hearty breakfast it was time to make plans.
We headed out just before 9am and returned about 3.30pm. We had a wonderful day exploring the Darling Harbour area, including the Maritime Museum. I have taken way too many photos and will try to limit the number I upload.
Chinese garden of friendship wasn't open but looked beautiful.
A place to sit and watch the tennis on the big screen.
Pyrmont bridge.
There was a fair bit of free stuff to see but we chose to pay $30 each so we could board the the Vampire and the Onslow Submarine. It also allowed us to climb the Lighthouse and enter an extra display in the museum. Money well spent.
Off the back of the ship.
Heritage fleet boats.
Was quite a small opening we had to back down into the submarine.
Finally it was time to head into the museum.
The amazing story of Kay Cottee ⬇️
We ducked back outside to look in the Lighthouse before it closed.
Views from the top.
Inner workings of the Lighthouse.
The Endeavour was being readied for a voyage to Tasmania so was closed to the public.
Back in the museum.
Under the sea
We decided to slowly wander home via the Pyrmont Bridge.
The wind has picked up and we struggled across the bridge. I almost lost my footing.
We have walked about 10 kms today, taking our Strava total to 40km so far. The temperature got up to 30.8° and apparently the winds were blowing at 43k/h.
