Day 1. Sydney. 17.1.25

Feeling the love this morning. We've had messages from friends and a visit from our neighbours wishing us Buen Viaje (Spanish for Bon Voyage). 

We were ready and waiting for our chauffeur to the airport 2 hrs earlier than we needed to be (nothing unusual for me 😁). It was an epic journey to the airport. We waited for about 20 minutes at roadworks in Howard and then got turned back on Booral Rd due to tree cutters blocking the road but not putting road signs out advising the road was closed. We turned back about 10kms. 

We still made it with time for a coffee before doing the usual check-in stuff. We only had half hour to wait for boarding, perfect timing or so we thought. Our flight has been delayed due to weather in Sydney 🤷‍♀️ We eventually boarded 30 minutes later than expected. 

We took an Uber to the Song Hotel for a weeks pre adventure before our big adventure starts.

View out the window. This pic doesn't show it but it is very windy, a cool 20° and a light shower passed through as we arrived. 

We had nothing planned for tonight except to find somewhere for dinner and due to the weather we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant.  That was a very good choice, both our dinners were beautiful.  

No parmy in this classy restaurant. We had slow cooked lamb and a slow cooked chicken breast 💕💕

NSW has daylight savings so we are now 1 hr ahead of Qld.
